Infant Program

Infant Program

At Montessori of Woodland Hills, we believe that learning begins from the very first days of life. Our Infant Program provides a warm, nurturing environment where babies ages 6 weeks through 14 months are supported in their most formative stage of development — one gentle moment at a time.

Grounded in the Montessori philosophy of respect for the child, our infant classrooms are thoughtfully designed to honor each baby’s natural curiosity and developmental pace. Soft natural materials, low shelves with carefully chosen sensory objects, and calm, uncluttered spaces invite exploration and discovery. Every element of the environment — from lighting to layout — is intentional, ensuring infants feel safe, seen, and stimulated.

Our teachers are trained to form genuine bonds with each child through consistent, responsive care. With low caregiver-to-infant ratios, your baby receives the individual attention they deserve. Caregivers observe each child closely, following their unique rhythms for feeding, sleep, and play — rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all schedule.

Language-rich interactions, gentle movement activities, tummy time, and age-appropriate Montessori materials encourage the development of motor skills, communication, and early cognitive growth. We introduce simple, beautiful objects that engage the senses — supporting visual tracking, grasping, and the natural drive to reach, touch, and understand the world.

We work closely with families, offering open communication through regular communication. At Montessori of Woodland Hills, you are always part of your child’s journey. From your baby’s first smile to their first steps, we are honored to walk alongside you.

What Is Montessori?

01

Dr. Maria Montessori

The Montessori Method, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori in the early 20th century, is a child-centered approach to learning that harnesses the natural curiosity and drive of children to explore and discover.

02

Key Principles

-Children learn best through sensory experiences and hands-on exploration. – A prepared environment fosters independence, self-directed learning, and growth at their own pace. – Specially designed materials with built-in “controls of error” enable children to self-teach and learn from their mistakes. – Positive reinforcement, praise, and encouragement motivate children to continue learning.

Our Implementation

At Montessori of Woodland Hills, we have carefully created a prepared environment that empowers children to reach their full potential. Our goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning, foster independence, and nurture confident, curious, and compassionate individuals.
